Sony ships new VAIO

Sony gets graphic with new VAIO notebooks

The arrival of spring brings rain showers, flower gardens and, of course, new colorful notebooks. Sony recently announced four Graphic Splash Edition notebooks available in its VAIO C and FE series.

The limited-edition (there are 1,350 available) notebooks include Intel Core 2 Duo processors, DVD-RW drives, embedded 802.11a/b/g wireless and widescreen displays (13.3 inches for the C series or 15.4 inches for the FE series). The FE notebooks start at $1,000 and the C series at $1,250. Color choices include pink or charcoal blossom, dots black and white, weathered red or blue, or dots brown and turquoise. Free engraving is available for further personalization.

Kingston 8GB USB drives now available

Kingston Technology says its DataTraveler Secure (DTS) and DataTraveler Secure - Privacy Edition (DTSP) USB 2.0 flash drives are now available. The rugged and waterproof USB devices include hardware-based encryption to secure critical data stored on the devices. The DTS is aimed at consumer and small to midsize business (SMB) customers, while the DTSP is aimed at enterprise users. Capacities range from 512MB to 8GB, and the drives also come with file management software. Pricing for the DTS model ranges from $38 to $282, while the DTS is priced from $50 to $350 (for the 8GB model). More details are available.
