Getting WebGUI to actually download

I read about WebGUI in one of your earlier columns.. When I try to install it I run into errors at the point where the installer tries to download the system software from a Web mirror. I have tried all the available mirrors, and they all fail. What am I doing wrong?

There is a problem in the automated WebGUI installation software that is known to the developers but that has not yet been fixed.

To work around this obstacle, download the WebGUI source archive from www.plainback.com in addition to downloading a copy of the binary WRE installation package. Make a second copy of the source archive file on your system for safekeeping. The installer erases the local archive it uses, and if something goes wrong, having a second copy will save you from having to download the package again.

Run the WRE setup program. When you get to the part of the installation procedure where you are asked whether you are installing from a local copy or a mirror, choose local.

You will be prompted to enter the full path to the WebGUI source archive file. Then the setup program will unpack the archive and be able to finish your site installation.
